VEGBAY in the News:

USA TODAY's "HOT SITES TEAM" wrote the following in their WEB GUIDE:

You'd guess from the name that it's an auction site (and you would be correct), but Vegbay isn't about vegetables, exactly – it covers all sorts of green-related goods, from clothing made from organic flax to cruelty-free beauty products to yoga and meditation supplies. It's a fairly young site and thus still getting up to speed, but it's worth keeping an eye on this one.

Hot Sites support staff (HSS).

VEGBAY Updates:

Help Support Animal Welfare Groups and Pick up a Bargain in the Process, A Unique Opportunity to Shop and Donate Simultaneously.

VEGBAY.com is proud to provide AuctionforAnimals.com with a FREE online auction service. Auction for Animals is an online auction created by volunteers seeking to raise desperately needed financial support for the grassroots animal protection community. After watching some of the most effective organizations struggle to stay open to continue their important work, Auction for Animals decided to take traditional fundraising to a new level.

(PRWEB) August 1, 2005 -- VEGBAY.com is proud to provide AuctionforAnimals.com with a FREE online auction service.

Auction for Animals allows the public to bid on items listed on our website. One hundred percent of the highest bid is donated to selected not-for-profit organizations. You are notified by email if you are the winner. Auction for Animals allows you to choose your preferred shipping method and the cost will be added to your total. There are no fees to maximize the money we can donate to the animals.

The recipients of the auction are Viva USA, Animal Rescue Media and Education (ARME), and Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty USA (SHAC). These organizations were selected for their long-term commitment to animals and the creative solutions they promote.

Viva USA, a registered 501(c)(3) organization, conducts investigations of factory farms and provides the tools for people to adopt a vegetarian diet. Through their up-to-date documentaries and informative booklets, Viva USA makes a compassionate diet appealing and possible. Recently, Viva USA successfully lobbied for a ban on foie gras in California.

ARME works directly with animals in need, rescuing dogs and cats and finding them loving homes. This 501(c)(3) utilizes television and Internet media outlets to expose the plight of abused animals and also coordinates annual food and toy drives for abandoned dogs and cats.

SHAC is comprised of volunteers focusing on the infamous Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS), one of the world’s largest animal testing laboratories. Five separate undercover investigations have revealed and confirmed that the lab kills nearly 500 animals daily in painful and unnecessary tests. SHAC has effectively pressured HLS’ financial supporters to abandon the lab.

It is crucial to suffering animals that we act now to keep these animal advocate organizations functioning.
